ICM Photography 1-2-1 Tuition
Learn how to MASTER THE MAGIC of ICM photography, broaden your creative vision whilst developing a deeper understanding of how different techniques and the freedom of movement can create beautiful and completely unique impressionist images.
Shona has been conducting 1-2-1 tuition for more than 5 years now. Specialising in the beautiful art of ICM photography, Shona covers the basic fundamentals of digital photography, whilst exploring a more creative photography technique through intentional camera movement (ICM). Technique is extremely important to Shona and whilst ICM photography demonstrates a certain freedom and creativity, Shona applies a considered, focussed and disciplined approach to her work ensuring the best results are achieved in camera.
Shona is also happy to offer private tuition days for up to 4 people and is available for several consecutive days if required. This is ideal for a small group of friends or a group from a camera club, please contact us here for details and availability, or proceed to booking.
ONLINE TUITION
Don't worry if you can't get to us here in Scotland. We live in a connected world giving us the ability to meet, chat and learn virtually. Shona also offers 1-2-1 online tuition via zoom.
All our programmes are bespoke and tailored to your individual needs.

ONLINE EDITING
Join Shona for an informal and engaging online review and editing session, designed to help and support you wherever you are on your ICM photography journey.
During this session, we will review selected images, discussing composition, light, technique, storytelling and editing tips. Exploring practical workflows for enhancing your photographs using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Whether you are looking for constructive feedback, fresh inspiration or post processing tips, this session offers a supportive space to learn, develop confidence and refine your creative vision.

Shona specialises in Seascape and ICM photography, heavily influenced by contemporary art and abstract minimalism, Shona has spent the past 10 years developing her love for intentional camera movement (ICM Photography).
Often described as creating a sense of calm through her imagery, Shona manages to capture solitude, tranquillity and haunting beauty in her work, all whilst maintaining her distinctive painterly style.
Known as an inspirational leader, Shona also has a wealth of experience in coaching, mentoring and developing teams, having worked at a Senior level in Retail Management for 20+ years. Shona loves nothing more than helping people reach their full potential.
Locations & Content
Shona is based in the beautiful seaside town of North Berwick and spends most of her time on the beaches of East Lothian. With more than 40 miles of coastline, an array of beautiful pristine sandy beaches, each ideal for intentional camera movement (ICM photography) and a great location for photography tuition.
Other locations also close to Shona are Fife, the Scottish Borders, and the spectacular Northumberland coastline. All of which Shona knows well.
If you would like Shona to travel to you, please send us a request here. Shona is more than happy to travel but this would incur an additional cost to cover any travel and / or accommodation needed.
Following a cuppa and some cake you will spend all your time together out in nature on a carefully chosen selection of stunning beaches, giving you the chance to practice different movements and techniques.
A basic understanding of digital photography is required as well as having a camera that has shutter priority mode and ND filters (3-6 stops) to allow us to shoot throughout the day.
Ultimately the day is yours to command, whether you have a particular image in mind you wish to capture, want to understand the concept of intentional camera movement (ICM photography) or are looking for inspiration in some beautiful places, or all three.

Please note that all prices are inclusive of VAT.
- Full day 1-2-1 tuition in person: £350.00
- For group bookings, there will be a supplement of £180.00 per person. (max 3)
- Half day 1-2-1 tuition in person: £275.00
- With a supplement of £120.00 per person. (max 3)
