My name is Shona and I am very lucky to call Scotland home.
For me, Scotland has it all, big skies, dramatic landscapes, spectacular seascapes and a deep multi-layered history.
With some of the largest wilderness areas left in Western Europe, Scotland is the perfect playground for photographers, outdoor enthusiasts, climbers and of course for tourists wanting to see the Country voted the worlds most beautiful..
I love nothing more than getting outside and exploring, be that in the hills, getting lost in remote moorland or walking bare foot along a deserted beach.
Whatever the weather, be it rain, hail or the ‘lesser spotted’ shine, I can be found, camera in hand taking in Scotland’s often surprising wild beauty.
I am mostly self taught, through reading a wide range of books, watching copious you tube tutorials and enrolling with the British academy of photography. I was lucky enough to be able to dedicate all my time throughout 2018 to enhancing my photography skills and travelling all over Scotland in the process.
I am now humbled and honoured to have been shortlisted for UK Landscape Photographer of the Year 2020
I also bring with me years of experience in Senior Retail Management and Business development. This experience combined with passion for photography lead me to creating My Beautiful Scotland, producing premium yet affordable Scottish prints, cards and gifts.
If you would like to get in touch, please do, I would love to hear from you.

Behind every image there is a story to tell, a lesson to learn, a journey to take!!
It takes a lot of research, planning, trial runs and a ton of patience to produce just one single image.
Not only are the right conditions and light critical, having the right equipment and post production are also essential. But mostly, photography is about the moment, capturing that moment, that split second feeling and telling a story...
