It can be quite a daunting experience when you are booking a workshop with someone you don’t know, but rest assured, the most important thing to me is ensuring that you are comfortable and at ease so you can get the most out of our time together.
“I can’t say enough about Shona’s teaching style. She’s very relaxed and incredibly easy to spend time with.”
Known as an inspirational leader in my previous career, I am an experienced coach and mentor and I love nothing more than helping people reach their full potential. Through thoughtful and considered support and guidance, whilst providing encouragement and inspiration as well as constructive challenge.
I am able to adapt to your preferred learning style, recognising the need for personal space.
I am passionate about ICM photography and love nothing more than being by the Sea. The Ocean gives us perspective like nothing else in nature can, it’s constantly changing, moving and has immense power. It can leave you feeling empowered yet insignificant, overwhelmed but inspired and for me, is a great source of inspiration for my work.
I find myself heavily influenced by abstract minimalism and simplicity. My work uses colour, contrast and light with subtlety, eliminating distractions and using negative space to enhance a feeling within a scene.
I have spent the past few years fully focused on developing my technique and processes and I am keen to share this and help others develop and master this wonderful and challenging technique.
“With Shona you will get warmth, an easy going and very effective teaching style, plus access to an unbelievable knowledge and passion for ICM.”
Each workshop will be tailored around your needs, experience and end goal. Our time together will not be rigid with structure, we will react to both the conditions as well as your progress. I believe that spending time understanding the key techniques and basic fundamentals of digital photography are key to grasping the limitless opportunities that come with ICM photography.
We will spend time learning about my considerations and approach, camera settings and equipment needed, managing the best results in camera, understanding the affects of movement as well as discussing post processing and image review.
Ultimately, having a fun and a motivational experience is something I strive to create.
“Shona’s enthusiasm is infectious and she is a delight to work with.
Would we do it again? Absolutely!”
