With a strong emphasis on Intentional Camera Movement (ICM), this workshop offers a balance of structured tuition, guided exploration, and personal creative time. Together, we will blend waves, woodland, lochs, and mountains into abstract yet expressive images that capture not only what you see, but also how you experience these magical places.
With two experienced, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and supportive tutors who are recognised as specialists in the creative technique of ICM. Bringing together their love of exploring the landscape with their cameras and translating this into images that portray not just a location, but also the immersive experience.
Participants will be encouraged to explore a wide array of opportunities, to build on existing skills but explore new possibilities. The learning environment with be supportive, relaxed, fun and inclusive regardless of the skill level of participants.
The vast and beautiful Moray coast. Situated in the North East of Scotland boasts some of Scotland's finest beaches, dramatic cliffs, quaint fishing villages and more than five hundred million years of geological history. In contrast we will also spend time in the Cairngorm's, the UKs largest National Park, which has more mountains, forest paths, rivers, lochs, wildlife hotspots and friendly villages than you can possibly imagine!
Based in two quintessentially Scottish Country house hotels, there will also be plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the tranquillity one only gets from being immersed in nature.
Expect a week of creativity, inspiration, laughter, and support, all set within a relaxed, welcoming group atmosphere.

Shona is a Scottish Photographer, specialising in Seascape and ICM Photography. Heavily influenced by contemporary art and abstract minimalism, Shona has spent the past few years developing her passion for intentional camera movement (ICM photography).
Whilst largely self-taught, Shona previously enrolled with the British Academy of Photography gaining a greater knowledge of the fundamentals and complexities of digital photography.
Technique is extremely important to Shona and whilst ICM photography demonstrates a certain creative freedom and experimentation, Shona applies a considered, focussed and disciplined approach to her work ensuring the best results are achieved in camera.
Often described as creating a sense of calm through her imagery, Shona manages to capture emotional depth, solitude, tranquillity and haunting beauty in her work, all whilst maintaining her distinctive painterly style.
Known as an inspirational leader and speaker, Shona also has a wealth of experience in coaching, mentoring and developing teams and loves nothing more than helping people reach their full potential.

Charlotte creates her images using a combination of Intentional camera movement known as ICM and double exposures. Some of her images are created in a moment of spontaneity, whilst others are carefully combined to replicate a memory. Charlotte loves the ICM technique for the freedom it allows her from focusing purely on the technical aspects of photography. Enjoying the fun in experimenting and creating something closer to art, stretching the envelope of photography in new directions.
The aspiration behind Charlottes images is that they are recognised as ‘art’ and not just photographs. With a passion for the landscape around her, it is evident and that Charlottes images make you take a minute to linger and wonder about your own location in which you live.
Charlottes early photographic career over ten years ago tended towards portraits and weddings. However, with a move to the Netherlands, her interest in landscapes was triggered, and more recently, her love of abstract photographic art with the use of ICM and double exposure techniques.
Charlotte is a Panel Member and Judge with The Guild of Photographers and jointly leads Photography Tours in the UK and the Netherlands with Light and Land.
