Shona Perkins and Mark Cornick are excited to announce two more dates for their sell out one day workshops at West Wittering.
This series of one day workshops based on the stunning West Sussex beach of West Wittering, is the ideal location to learn all about the beautiful art of intentional camera movement (ICM photography), a technique that enables you to create striking, ethereal and abstract images.
REGISTRATION OPENS EXCLUSIVELY TO OUR MAILING LIST ON WEDNESDAY 9TH APRIL AT 5PM GMT.
One of the most beautiful beaches on the South Coast of England, West Wittering is perfect for ICM and Abstract photography.
With miles of open sandy beach, expansive skies and low tidal pools, this wonderful beach offers a multitude of compositional aids.
Accessibility and amenities are plentiful, and the fish and chips are pretty good too!
A big focus for the day will be on mindful observation, the importance of being able to see, what you can't necessarily see in front of you.
We will encourage you to make the most of being at this beautiful location, enabling you to feel rejuvenated both mentally and physically.
We will both share how we see and interpret this landscape, what we look for and how we translate this through ICM Photography.
Mark and Shona will share their knowledge of technique, their considerations and processes in which they apply to their own work, demonstrating how different shutter speeds effect the final outcome of your images, and also which camera movements compliment the foreground you are capturing.
There is so much more to West Wittering then wide angle compositions, and we will encourage you to seek out some finer details and more intimate scenes to capture. And whilst primarily an ICM based workshop, we will actively encourage experimentation of technique.
Shona is an Abstract Photographer, specialising in Seascape and ICM Photography. Heavily influenced by contemporary art and abstract minimalism, Shona has spent the past few years developing her passion for intentional camera movement (ICM photography).
Technique is extremely important to Shona and whilst ICM photography demonstrates a certain creative freedom and experimentation, Shona applies a considered, focussed and disciplined approach to her work ensuring the best results are achieved in camera.
Often described as creating a sense of calm through her imagery, Shona manages to capture emotional depth, solitude, tranquillity and haunting beauty in her work, all whilst maintaining her distinctive painterly style.
Known as an inspirational leader and speaker, Shona also has a wealth of experience in coaching, mentoring and developing teams and loves nothing more than helping people reach their full potential.
Mark is a Surrey based photographer who specialises in working on abstract and contemporary landscape projects in Coastal locations.
Mark has always felt a strong connection to the Coast, especially the beaches of West Cornwall, which he first set foot on from the age of just two months old!
With Marks work, he aims to not only to showcase the beauty of the Coastline, but to also talk about the importance of these areas as places for personal reflection, tranquillity, and mental well-being.
Mark met Shona in 2023 and they went on to form a collaborative partnership running their first joint workshops at West Wittering beach in West Sussex in April 2024.
Participants have praised their complimentary coaching styles as well as their shared passion for ICM and abstract seascape photography.
